On Saturday 22nd January 2005, Donald Trump took a strool down the aisle to marry the then 34 year old love time lover Slovenian born supermodel Melania Knauss. Predictably, this wedding was filled with everything from excitement, glamour and gliz we have all come to know from Donald Trump.

The bride’s wedding gown appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine in February 2005. Her 50 pound wedding gown was designed by Christian Dior’s John Galliano. And the white satin dress, rumoured to have cost $200,000, had nearly 300 feet of meterial and 2,000 crystal rhinestones and pearls. It really does seem as if everything this bloke does, he does it better and bigger than anyone else. Trump is a 59 year old property mogul and businessman, reported to be the single largest land holder in NY City. His TV show, The Apprentice, is no less than a reality show staple and absolute favourite of fans of this particular genre.

The wedding ceremony was held at Bethesda Episcopal Church in Palm Beach, Florida. The wedding party consisted of Melania’s sister as the Main of Honour, Trump’s sons Eric and Donald Jnr as his best men. Trump’s daughter Ivanka also performed a reading during the wedding ceremony.

The reception of the wedding immediately followed and continued went on until the break of dawn at Trump’s 18 acre Maralago golf resort and escape. The dinner culminated with beautiful Filet Mignon covered in Peppercorn sauce, the wedding cake was a five foot high Grand chiffon confection with finest butter cream lined with roses from white icing. All the details were handled by one of Trump’s favourite chefs Jean Georges Vongerichten.
