Eddie Murphy and his former wife Nicole Mitchell had a very long (by Hollywood standards) marriage, 12 years.

The wedding of Eddie and Tracey on 1st January 2008 at a private small island off Bora Bora was not quite a legal wedding.

The wedding which took place in Bora Bora was just a ceremony to bind Eddie and Tracey spiritually in the warm presence of family and mates. The couple had planned a legal ceremony upon their return to the States.

The spiritual wedding ceremony was held under a 7,000 shell covered gazebo on the loveliest beach at sunset before 30 guests. Tracey walked down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s Makings of You – amazingly romantic.

The bride wore a custom-designed dress by designer Sugia Nazel, designer and owner of the famous Baracci boutique. Murphy wore a lovely cream suit with an off-white handkerchief.

Best man was of course Johnny Gill, the maid of honour was the lovely Nicole Avant, and the matron of honour was the wonderful Julie Lev. Both Eddie and Tracey had family present at the wedding reception. Their huge wedding cake had 4 layers and was beautifully decorated with sugar cymbidium and rare dendrobium orchids.
