The wedding ceremony was expected to last for roughly an hour, and was to be followed up by a procession of elephants, horses and camels, all elegantly decorated for the festivities. The procession paraded through the grounds of the Umaid Bhavan Palace, a massive sandstone domed luxury hotel. The wedding party was then scheduled to move to the Mehrangarh Fort, overlooking Jodhpur’s old blue city for a nighttime, moonlet celebration. Roughly 250 guests were invited to Jodhpur to partake in the wedding party.
