The spotlights of Hollywood were far, very far away. In fact, Pierce Brosnan and his gorgeous bride Keely Smith dance by the romantic light of the moon with a dramatic thirteenth century Irish castle as a mere backdrop to mark their marriage on 4th August.

There was extraordinary magic and exceptional romance at the couple’s wedding reception, held at Ashford Hotel in County Mayo. Guests included 120 close mates and family for the fantastic weekend at this fairytale hotel which was set on the stunning shore of Ireland’s biggest lake.

Planners of the wedding worked with the couple for weeks just to design the ceremony: glittering candles, a multitude of flowers, sparking lights, finest food and wonderful entertainment. According to the bride, the concept was a Midsummer Night meets The Secret Garden. The goad was a memorable evening spent among the people they know and love best.

They came from as far away as America and Australia and the isle of Mustique. They also brought tuxedos and elegant gowns and their elegant dancing shoes. And did they lovely dance.

The 150 close mates and family attending the 4th August wedding of Pierce Brosnan and Keely Smith saw more then a special celebration of love as well as togetherness. Staying at thirteenth century Ashford Castle in County Mayo and witnessing the finest wedding in a historic abbey, the wedding guests did participate in a homecoming, a long-awaited reunion of family and friends and a renewing of Irish tradition.
