Golfpro Tiger Woods with his Swedish model wife Elin Nordgren

On 5th October 2004, Tiger Woods married his long time lover Elin Nordegren.

The wedding ceremony itself was rather simple even though the rest of the preparations were expensive and elaborate. Over 500 roses were imported from Europe for the wedding.

The sunset wedding took place under a beautiful white netted pagoda becked with red roses on the nineteenth hole of the Sandy Golf Resort in Barbados. The private resort is situated on the long west coast of the Caribbean island. The wedding reportedly cost up to $2 million.

Tiger splashed out on the whole complex for a week, including 100 rooms and 3 golf courses. The rooms cost from $800 to $10,000 per night each.

About 150 guests were invited to the ceremony, including Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Charles Barkley and Bill Gates.

The wedding reception was privately held in the banquet room decorated with over 10,000 black and red roses. Finest champagne and caviar were served to the honourable guests. The music was performed by Hootie & the Blowfish and after the ceremony, the night was beautifully lit up by fireworks.
